"For riding field gear... they have what you need or can order it for the not so popular (niche market) items.
For field tools... they have a good selection.
For regular maintenance items... they stock a good variety of brake pads, levers, etc. good store for quick tire changes as well.
Storefront... always clean and organized into well defined sections.
Staff... always friendly and knowledgeable. They do not make assumptions based on customer appearance! I love this! I do not look like a traditional aggressive motocross/trail rider... I usually am looked at as a novice and don’t know what I’m doing because I don’t wear the standard clothing lines of a rider, no tattoos, etc. my whole family rides (for the last 20 years) and I do all maintenance. Because of that I can easily talk to the staff, but I do see the staff constantly interact on an extremely friendly and informative way when speaking with brand new riders and/or their parents. A++++ on this front.
Communication... my wife recently went in for a riding gear update for the constantly growing kids. She had to order 2 not stocked (in their size) helmets. I received a call a few days later with an update. This was not solicited, I didn’t have to call them to request and update. Probably wouldn’t have for a few weeks anyway. This is key to a solid business foundation. This is one of the main reason I’ll keep shopping there vs at a cycle sales big name store. They pay more attention to the customer over the sale.

"Stopped at Cycle Gear on I10 in San Antonio to buy a pair of gloves. Store was extremely busy but one of the employees (David) greeted me and said that he would be right with me. I quickly asked where the gloves were located and he directed me to them. I found the exact pair that I was looking for and went back to the register. All of the employees were helping other customers but when David saw that I only had the gloves, he asked the customer he was helping if it would be ok to ring me up and the customer willingly agreed. I was in and out in less than 5 minutes with exactly what I needed. Thanks David!"
